Maalifushi by COMO is located in the archipelago’s southwest on the Thaa Atoll. Guests can visit other islands in the area by seaplane or boat with ease.
Rooms and villas are divided into over-water and land based accommodation. In the over-water category, there are 17 Water Suites, each with 107sqm of space; 13 Water Villas, with 120sqm; 1 Maalifushi Water Villa, with two bedrooms and 213sqm; and two COMO Villas, with two bedrooms and 408sqm of space. All of the over-water accommodation comes with a private pool. For those preferring to stay on land, there are 6 Garden Rooms (72sqm), 13 Beach Suites (101sqm) with private pools, 7 Beach Villas (116sqm) also with private pools, 1 Beachfront Villa (178sqm) and 1 COMO Residence (296sqm) which also comes with a private pool. Accommodation comes with air conditioning and colonial ceiling fans, 46 inch LED or Plasma satellite TV and Wi-Fi access.
Dining options include: Madi, meaning Manta Ray in Dhivelhi, drawing its main flavours from the sea it overlooks, with a mixture of Thai, Mediterranean and Indonesian influences, complemented by the COMO Shambhala Cuisine, which focuses on raw, steamed or grilled dishes rich in enzymes, vitamins and sea minerals; Thila, serving salads, freshly baked seafood and Turkish ‘pide’; and Tai, one of the finest Japanese restaurants in the Maldives.
The islands hosts the COMO Shambhala Retreat, offering eight ocean-facing treatment rooms, steam rooms, an open-air yoga pavilion, sauna and separate male and female Jacuzzis. Many activities are available on the island and in the area around it, including a number of water-sports and diving activities.
35 minutes by plane from Malé International Airport to Thimarafushi Airport, followed by 25 minute boat ride to Maalifushi.
