The Hotel de Rome is located on Bebelplatz, just off Unter den Linden, the main thoroughfare in the centre of Berlin which leads to the famous Brandenburg Gate. It is a beautiful, historic building and was the head office of Dresdner Bank until 1945. The hotel opened in 2006 and features a modern stylish contemporary décor.
The hotel has 146 guestrooms consisting of 109 rooms (36-42sqm), 36 suites (50-70sqm) and the 120sqm Bebel suite. The rooms and suites on the first, second and third floors have high ceilings at 3.2 - 5 m. There are also four Historic suites which were formerly the bank directors' offices. These suites also enjoy views of Bebelplatz and have ceilings nearly 5 m high.
The hotel’s restaurant offers Mediterranean cuisine and has a large terrace used for al fresco dining during the summer months, while the contemporary Bar overlooks Bebelplatz. Coffee and afternoon tea are served in the grand Opera Court.
The hotel has a spa with a steam room, six treatment rooms, a sauna, a relaxation area and a fully-equipped gym. The bank’s original vault now serves as a 20-metre swimming pool.
Tegel international airport (TXL) is located 12km from Hotel de Rome and is approximately 25 minutes travel time by car. Schönefeld (SXF), Berlin's second airport, is located about 20km from the hotel and is 40 minutes travel time by car.
