The Waldorf Astoria Chicago is considered the most prestigous hotel address in Chicago at present, and is one of the best city hotels in North America. It has received acclaim for its elegant design emulating the grand hotels of Paris in the 1920s.
The hotel is in a prime location at 11 East Walton Street in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood. All the attractions of central Chicago, such as the Newberry Library, Hancock Tower, and Chicago Water Tower, are within walking distance or a short taxi ride away; the Millennium Park and the Art Institute of Chicago are also nearby. The area around the hotel is great for luxury shopping, as it is close to the stores lining Michigan Avenue's Magnificent Mile and the neighboring Oak Street. There is also a Marc Jacobs store on the ground floor of the hotel.
The hotel has 188 extremely spacious guestrooms and suites. Each of the hotel’s guestrooms and suites boast modern furnishings and fireplaces.
The Waldorf Astoria Chicago offers two dining venues: Bernard’s and Balsan. Bernard's features a simple menu of both classic and modern cocktails, wines, spirits, and seasonal beverages, accompanied by a light fare menu. Balsan is a sophisticated European bistro, featuring a simple Western inspired menu. There are plenty of the Gold Coast's acclaimed restaurants and bars within short walking distance, including some of Chicago’s 15, Michelin star restaurants.
Complementing the hotel’s accommodation, is a 14,000 sq. ft. Elysian Spa and fitness club.
Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD) is 18 miles (40 min) and Chicago Midway Airport (MDW) is 20 miles (40 min) from the hotel
