Location

With a focus on detachment, Sanctum Inle Resort is an ideal retreat destination, located beside the beautiful Inle lake 800 metres above sea level and with mountains lining the horizon.    Inle Lake is one of the most important natural and cultural attractions in Myanmar (Burma).  The lake's villages have some of Asia’s most fascinating markets and pagodas while a remarkable collection of 1,000 ruined stupas that date back to the 13th Century is located at Inthein Village.  The lake is 22km long and a number of tribes in stilted wooden huts inhabit its shores.

Accommodation

Cloister Classic and Cloister Deluxe rooms measure between 38 and 50sqm, have spacious interiors, wooden floors and furnishings, and views of the resort’s gardens. Hermitage Deluxe rooms are among the largest rooms available, measuring between 48 and 54sqm, and featuring a private terrace with views of the gardens. Provost Junior Suites measure 66sqm and are housed in stand-alone villas, each with its own wooden terrace. Hermitage Suites measure 60sqm, have incredible views of the lake and are located in the resort’s main building, providing direct access to the facilities. The largest suites are the Abbey and Sanctuary suites which measure 100 and 150sqm respectively, each with luxuriously appointed bedrooms, spacious living areas and private terraces.

Dining

The main dining venue is the Refectory, which focuses on Shan cuisine featuring noodles, soups, garden salads, all which are created using organic ingredients sourced from the local area. There is also a wide selection of Western dishes available. Cloister Bar serves afternoon cocktails, locally brewed beers, premium Myanmar wines, as well as exceptional Cuban and Dominican cigars in the segregated cigar lounge.

Leisure

Those that need to reconnect with the world can do so at The Chapter House, where there is an internet connection and an extensive library. The 200sqm Sanctuary Spa features four treatment rooms, a couples’ treatment room, a Thai massage room, and a foot massage room. The spa makes use of Natural Rendez-vous oils for massages and Yves Rocher products for treatments.
