Location

Santa Cruz Island is at the very heart of the Galapagos Archipelago, and Pikaia Lodge itself occupies an amazing location close to the eastern coast of the island. 450 metres above sea level, the resort sits on a plateau overlooking savannah and dense tropical forest. Between July and November, wild tortoises migrate to Pikaia Lodge to graze, while the nearby extinct volcanoes provide a spectacular backdrop. 97% of the Galapagos Islands is a UNESCO National Park, ensuring unobstructed views from the Lodge and nothing but incredible flora and fauna in the surrounding area.

Accommodation

The 61sqm Balcony and Terrace Rooms have bamboo floors which are perfect for walking barefoot, floor to ceiling windows that create a naturally bright living area, incredible views across the National Park, and a 21sqm marble bathroom with a walk-in closet. The Garden Suite is 74sqm in size and includes a fully furnished 16sqm terrace and private garden. It also has a spacious combined living/sleeping area with a 22sqm bathroom and panoramic views. The Pool Suite measures 74sqm, has a 22sqm bathroom with panoramic views, and a 36sqm terrace and garden with a private plunge pool.

Dining

“Evolution” Restaurant serves a full American breakfast with locally sourced produce, a light lunch which can be enjoyed on the terraces, and a sophisticated dinner menu inspired by Peruvian and Ecuadorian cuisine. The Wine Cellar features a prime selection of some of the finest South American wines and has a maître on hand to offer advice and suggestions. The Lobby Lounge & DNA Bar is elegantly designed and is the perfect place to relax in the evening whilst enjoying spectacular views of the setting sun, with fine cocktails and local speciality drinks served throughout the day.

Leisure

The “Homo Sapiens” Explorers Lounge hosts guest conferences and lectures, featuring a full complement of multimedia facilities and a library of books dedicated to science, evolution and the Galapagos Islands. The Sumaq Spa has a beautiful Peruvian design and is equipped with an infrared sauna, a whirlpool with a 270 degree view of the ocean, a spectacular outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and 3.5km of paths, ideal for walking, jogging and biking. Pikaia Lodge has a 30m yacht and a 10m boat which can be privately chartered for fishing trips, snorkelling, or simply for exploring the coast and the surrounding ocean. A wide range of outdoor activities are available from the resort, including scuba diving, sea safaris, kayaking, and the spectacular beaches are perfect for relaxing.
