The Amanera sits on a cliff-top on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful Playa Grande beach. 2,170 acres of dense jungle covers much of the area around the hotel and the island’s stunning mountain range provides an incredible backdrop. The location of the hotel is isolated, yet well-connected, with the villages of Río San Juan and Cabrera both a short distance from the resort, while the town of Cabarete is located a little further to the west.
Ocean View Hill Casitas measure 76sqm and have 159sqm terraces which have a sheltered dining area. These Casitas have features that ensure the best use of the space, such as TVs that rise from the floor when in use and numerous skylights and sliding doors which bring as much light into the rooms as possible. These Casitas are also available with a pool, while many also benefit from spectacular bay views.
The Restaurant specialises in organic dishes and has a terrace overlooking the Playa Grande beach. Dishes are inspired by Taino cuisine and include traditional local stews, freshly caught fish and the chef’s own casaba bread.
The spa makes use of the traditional shamanic healing rituals of the Dominican Republic and the healing creams and balms are made from locally grown plants and herbs. Facilities include single and double treatments rooms, steam rooms and saunas. Sunrise beachfront yoga sessions and rejuvenating massages in a serene environment make the spa the perfect place to unwind. For the adventurous, surfing, kayaking, snorkelling, hiking, biking and coastal outings are highly recommended, with trained professionals on-hand to support guests in their chosen activity.
Amanera is the first golf-integrated Aman resort, with the world-class 18-hole Playa Grande golf course located alongside the hotel.
