Location

Jabal Akhdar, or ‘The Green Mountain’ sits in the Al Hajar mountain range, overlooking a spectacular gorge. The mountainous terrain means of the area means that four-wheel drive vehicles are a must, with the drive to the resort being an exciting adventure in itself. The surrounding area of Al Dakhiliyah is an Omani cultural centre and the nearby city of Nizwa is known as the ‘Pearl of Islam’. Oman’s highest mountain, Jebel Shams, is visible from the resort and the entire area is considered the ‘fruit bowl of Oman’ due to the exceptional fruits, nuts and roses that grow there. The UNESCO heritage Bahla Fort and Jabreen Castle are both well worth a visit for those interested in the history of the region.
