Overview

Probably the most iconic of all hotels and a member of The Leading Hotels of the World The Ritz Hotel in Paris has always attracted royalty of every kind. Its famous guests included: the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, writers Marcel Proust, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway and composers Chopin and Cole Porter. Coco Chanel also lived at the hotel from 1937 until her death in 1971. The Ritz Paris reopened on 6 June 2016 after a major four-year, multimillion-euro renovation.

Location

The hotel’s storied palatial building is a former residence of several noble families and is located in the 1st arrondissement, on Place Vendome - one of the most prestigious locations in Paris. The hotel is located within 500 m from the Tuileries Garden, 900 m from the Musee d’Orsay and within walking distance to world’s most exclusive shopping and dining venues. Charles de Gaulle Airport is a 30km drive from the hotel and private parking is available on site.

Accommodation

The stay at the Ritz Paris feels more like stepping back in time and into a glimpse of Parisian history than simply visiting a hotel. Its inimitable charm, museum quality furnishings and impeccable service are what makes this venue so special. There are in total 71 suites, 71 rooms and 15 historic prestige suites available executed in fine woodwork and delicate pastel hues, featuring large bathrooms with delightfully silly gilded swan taps and Cezar Ritz’s favored peach-colored towels. Several of the prestige suites were named after and inspired by famous former guests such as Chanel, Chopin, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Charlie Chaplin, Maria Callas and the Windsors. The Mansart suite features a rooftop terrace with a 360-degree view over Paris. Also, the hotel was fully redesigned to accommodate the latest technologies.

Dining

As a guest at the Ritz Paris you will have a choice of dinning in one of its three world-class restaurants including the 2 Michelin starred L’Espadon led by celebrity chef Nicholas Sale. You will enjoy the most creative and elegant dishes be it a morning breakfast, lunch in the garden or an unforgettable dinner. The other option is Bar Vendome where you can also dine or have drinks under a spectacular retractable roof letting in the sunshine during summer and transforming the venue into a veritable winter garden when the weather turns cold. Alternatively, the stylish Ritz Bar also offers lunch and dinner fare as well as small plates, exclusive selection of wines and cocktails. Additionally, the small and cozy Salon Proust, with its oak lounge and book-lined walls will be perfect for an afternoon tea. Finally, there is also Bar Hemingway, the small sized venue where you can sample one of the legendary cocktails served by the original head barman Colin Peter Field. It was named after the writer in 1994.

Leisure

The legendary Ritz Club features state-of-the-art fitness facilities, art-deco swimming pool, seven treatment room Chanel Spa as well as a Turkish bath. The exclusive treatments are designed by Chanel and include custom made oils and scents. The visit is preceded by an in-depth conversation aimed at addressing each client’s individual needs and wishes. The two-story health club at the hotel offers fitness classes, including yoga and aqua bike while the magnificent swimming pool at the heart of the Club was inspired by the baths of ancient Greece and Rome and features a very special blue floor made from 800,000 mosaic tiles. One can also enjoy a walk in a stunning 1600 sq m Versailles inspired garden, or arrange a business meeting or a romantic dinner in one of the garden’s alcoves set amongst linden trees and beds of white roses.
