Location

Situated in the suburbs of Nairobi, in the small village of Karen, Hemingways allows guests to escape from the bustle of the city, whilst still providing good connections to the capital and the airport. Its location also makes it the perfect place to either begin or end an African Safari. The Nairobi City Safari begins just minutes from the hotel and the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is also located nearby.

Accommodation

Hemingways Nairobi has 45 suites, all of which have en-suite marble bathrooms, walk-in wardrobes and beautiful mahogany and leather furnishings. Suites have high ceilings, creating a true sense of grandeur when entering the rooms, and have balconies that provide impressive views of the surrounding grasslands. There are two Presidential Penthouse Suites, which offer the highest level of luxury and have the most spectacular views. All guests have their every need attended to by the bespoke butler service, which offers everything from baggage packing/unpacking and shoe shining, to a complete concierge service.

Dining

The restaurant serves contemporary European cuisine focused on classic dishes with a modern twist. The kitchen is pioneering in nature and utilises ‘Josper’ charcoal ovens and ‘a la plancha’ techniques to provide unique, high quality dishes. The in-house patisserie offers up finely decorated cakes and Viennoiseries. The kitchen make use of the finest ingredients available and bread is freshly baked on the premises each day. The breakfast menu is divided into 4 sections; health, power, energy and New York, though there is also an á la carte menu, with freshly squeezed juice accompanying every breakfast option. The bar has the ambience of a private members club and serves a collection single malt whiskies, fine wines from its temperature controlled wine cellar, rare cognacs and a number of experimental cocktails.

Leisure

The City Safari is one of the highlights of a stay at the Hemingways; lasting 6 hours it provides an unusual city backdrop for your safari adventure. The spa offers pedicures and manicures, massages, exfoliation treatments and special anti-stress back therapies. Spa packages are also available, offering a comprehensive set of treatments lasting up to 4 hours. Facilities include a swimming pool, a gym with a personal trainers available on request, a sauna and a stream room.
